We invite you to one of the most luxurious, spectacular, and unique journeys we have ever created. We’ll travel through this majestic and visual land with the most experienced and knowledgable guides in the country. This will be a journey of unfettered access and unimaginable personal experiences throughout Morocco. We have on this trip enough guide support to separate as groups of one or two in order to move more freely and be more unassuming in the streets as we photograph. Each staff member with us has 10-20 years of guiding the most exclusive and high-end film companies, actors, and individuals through Morocco. You will have the luxury and spontaneity to go and photograph whatever and whenever you desire. In true Wanderlust style, we have some incredible experiences laid out, and have the flexibility and support to be as open to opportunity as all real adventures require.

Please contact us to hear more about this once in a lifetime adventure. It has taken us two years to plan and we assure you, it will not disappoint.

 Day 1

We arrive in Tangiers where we are welcomed by our Moroccan guides, and true characters, Hafid and Linda. We’ll check into our beautiful Riad and have time to relax after traveling. In the afternoon, we’ll explore the medina and take Moroccan tea at a hidden but famous café. To finish the day we’ll have a wonderful early welcome dinner and a good nights sleep.

Day 2

After breakfast, we pack our cars and head up the Mediterranean coast. Our first stop on the road is the White City, or Tetuan. We’ll meander through this spectacular coastal city and find ourselves on the waterfront for lunch. In the afternoon, we’ll head for the famous Blue City of Chefchaouen. Nestled in the mountains, this city is one of the most photogenic and magical places in Morocco. We arrive and settle in to another incredible Riad for a two-night stay.

Day 3

We’ll rise early and spend our day exploring Chefchaouen, absorbing the small mountain city and all it’s life and energy. This particular journey is so full of enchanting places that we have left time to meander with plenty of opportunity to be surprised and allow for the unexpected. You’ll find many things as you wander around corners, and take time to sit for some tea. We’ll have another incredible dinner that night and lounge in our Riad into the evening.

Day 4

After breakfast, we’ll drive some beautiful winding roads through the hill country. We will have the time to stop along the way, and perhaps meet some young Bedouin children and their families. We will take our lunch in a small mountain village as we witness their way of life here. Our final destination today is the ancient and hauntingly beautiful city of Fez. One of our personal favorites, this city will enchant you. After a long day of driving we will settle into our hotel and perhaps take a stroll in the evening light before dinner and a good night’s sleep.

Day 5

Today takes us into ancient Medina in Fez. Founded in the 9th century, it’s narrow alleys house hundreds of merchants and craftsmen, the oldest university in the world, and one of Morocco’s most infamous tanneries. This medieval city is abounding with photographic opportunities, beautiful Moroccan crafts and marketplace bustle. Winding through the old narrow streets, laden with unexpected treasures, this is a journey of the senses and times of old.

Day 6

We rise early and head off towards the Great Sahara Desert with stops and some unique surprises along the way. We arrive at the majestic dunes just before sunset. Here we will settle in and dine on the edge of the Sahara at a hotel full of desert character, charisma, and beauty. You’ll fall asleep to our Berber friend’s drumming and the cool desert air. We will wager you’ll never forget this particular evening.

Day 7

This morning we’ll have our breakfast and tea in the Berber village. From there we will head out to explore the surrounding villages and desert communities. Some of our guide’s families are ecstatic that we want to visit their homes, where we will spend time getting to know one another and seeing their world. In the late afternoon we’ll say our goodbyes and saddle up our camels for a ride to our desert camp and luxurious bivouac (tented camp) for a night of fire, food, music, and a million stars in the desert sky above

Day 8

Today we wake before sunrise to climb a huge sand dune and watch the sun rise over the magnificent and unique red desert sands. The choice of running or sliding back down to breakfast is up to you! We’ll take breakfast as we say goodbye to our camp and ride our camels back through the desert. From here we travel toward the mountains, and more specifically, Kalaat M’Gouna, The Valley of the Roses. May is harvest time in the valley and we hope to find some rose houses and see their processes of making rose oils. This green valley, nestled in the Atlas Mountains, is one of the more unusual, beautiful, and wondrous places in Morocco. Tonight we stay in nearby Gorge Todgha in a truly unique hotel and location.

Day 9

We rise with the sun this morning to take in the morning light as we explore Gorge Todgha and the surrounding area’s exquisite beauty. Then we begin our drive toward the enchanting city of Marrakech. On our descent from the Atlas Mountains, we’ll visit the Door of the Desert, Ourrzazate. Later, we’ll also stop at a famous kasbah for tea before finally finding ourselves headed into Marrakech, our home for the next three nights.

Day 10

Today we explore the imperial and ancient city of Marrakech. Should you choose, we’ll take an early walk to experience the city waking up and coming alive as the sun begins to warm the small winding streets. After breakfast we’ll regroup for a behind-the-curtain day in one of the busiest, and oldest cities in Africa. We’ll visit old Madrassas, lively souks with their spices and wares, perhaps take a stroll in the Jardin Marjorelle, and more. Of course, we’ll spend plenty of time in the famous Jemma el-Fnaa square with it’s crazy wonderful sights, sounds, and offerings. In the evening, on a terrace rooftop, we’ll relax as the sun sets over the square and then take an after dinner walk in the moody dark atmosphere of this wonderful city. It is indeed a full day but well worth every minute.

Day 11

We begin this day with an early journey to the coastal town of Essaouira. On the way, we’ll stop at some fascinating women’s collectives where they press argon oil and there are some very peculiar goats! Essaouira dates back to the 16th century or earlier. It’s medieval and picturesque walled fort has served as the location used by Game of Thrones for the ‘Unsullied’ city and many other films over the years. This small fishing port abounds with visuals – the famous blue boats, beautiful beaches, ornate doors, and small marketplaces. Of course, we’ll dine for lunch on fresh fish at the fisherman’s market hall or on the shore, and later line up with locals at one of the many creperies in the souk. The entire day is guaranteed to delight. We’ll stay for the magic evening light and head home to Marrakech from a long but satisfying day of adventure.

Day 12

For our final day in Morocco we begin by exploring the morning activities of nearby mountain villages. We’ll ride by mule up into the clouds toward a Kasbah, centuries old, and have our lunch at a perch on high. In the late afternoon, we head out for another genuine Moroccan experience, visiting a Hammam – or bath house. We have our choice of a more luxurious Hammam of Marrakesh or one of the true, local Hammams. Of course, this depends on how adventurous you’re feeling! In the evening we head out for a final farewell feast.

 Day 13

We’ll sit together once more for a send-off breakfast, gather our things, and our guides will wish us each bon voyage from the Marrakech or Casablanca airports.

**Please note at any time during these two weeks of travel, should you wish to stay at the hotel, sleep in, or take some time for yourself, you are always free to do so.
